Japan Adult Leukemia Study Group (JALSG) is a multi-institutional cooperative study group with special emphasis on the development of the standard treatment of Japanese adult leukemia. JALSG was established in 1987, and just celebrated its 20th anniversary holding a memorial international symposium.
Our mission is to increase the cure rate and the quality of life of adult patients with leukemia and other hematological malignancies through the development of better diagnostic procedures based on laboratory research and of better treatment mainly using intensive chemotherapy, molecule-targeting therapy and antibody therapy as well as new modalities under development.
At present, September 2007, a total of 186 hospitals (93 centers with 93 affiliated hospitals) all over Japan from Hokkaido to Okinawa participate in the group activities and engage in many studies with physicians, researchers and medical staff in collaboration with patients.
